At the end of every drag racing season the cream of the Bow-Tie crop meet at historic Southern California’s Pomona Raceway to fight it out on the quarter mile.  All makes and models compete at the season-ending Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals from dragsters and funny cars to Pro Stockers and Super Stock.  Max Chevy photographers James Drew and Zak Hawthorne found some of the many strong Chevrolets pounding through the gears in front of a huge crowd.

Brian McClanahan’s refrigerator white ’67 Camaro qualified 5th among 69 entries in the Super Stock category with his strong 9.716 elapsed time.

Part of Sunday’s pre-race activities bring out a select group of resto’s for a special parade in front of the huge grandstands.

Todd Patterson’s 2006 Chevy Cobalt is always a strong competitor in Competition Eliminator.  Todd hails from Augusta, Kansas, and clocked a 7.753 in qualifying, but was eliminated in the second round of eliminations.
