The NHRA Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwidde, Va., on Oct. 8-11 was the last time an NHRA national event will be held at the dragstrip. It will move to the IHRA sanctioning body next season.

The Chevy lovers at this last race didn’t have a lot to cheer for as the Funny Car and Pro Stock classes went to non-Bowtie vehicles.

The bright spot was the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge presented by ProCare Rx exhibition series, where last year’s event winner, Jay Payne (above), defended his event title and got his first win of the season. Payne took the win over teammate Rick Stivers, when Stivers’ car crossed the center line in the final round.
