Road Kings Charity Car Show

Bowties of Burbank

The Road Kings of Burbank, California first gathered in 1952, but unlike some other car clubs of the period, this club also spawned drag racing legends. The likes of “TV Tommy” Ivo, Bob Muravez, Kenny Safford, and Don “the Snake” Prudhomme all got their start with the Road Kings jacket on their backs. The racing heritage continues with some members still hitting the quarter mile tracks left in SoCal, but the majority of club participants have vivid memories of the early days and have carefully documented their rich history at the drags.

The club is an active one with fundraising activities supporting their own varied charities like the Boys & Girls Clubs, Burbank Parks, and the Auto Shop Class at Burbank High School. Among their activities are popular Southern California car shows including a June event held at Johnny Carson Park in Burbank. It's open to the public with hot rods, cruisers and lead sleds from just about every make and model, but like a lot of open car shows - Chevys are abundant and this show had plenty of Bowties on which to feast your eyes!

Focusing on cool Chevys, take a look at the 20th Annual Road Kings Charity Car Show. For more information on the Road Kings Car Club, check out burbankroadkings.com.
