Chevys (real Chevys) dominated the winner’s circle at the July 13-14 ADRL Summernationals staged at U.S. 131 Dragway in Martin, Mich. In fact, Chevy-powered Chevys were winners in the ultra-competitive classes of Pro Mod, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Nitrous.

St. Louis racer John DeFlorian was the winner of the Mountain-motored Extreme Pro Stock class driving a 2012 COPO Camaro from the Jerry Haas Race Car factory in Missouri. DeFlorian, driving for Karen and Kevin Bealko, qualified 4th with a best ET and speed of 4.088/177.46. The 177.46 was good for best speed of the meet.

In the final round DeFlorian and his Camaro defeated Matt Bertsch of Tecumsen, Mich., who was driving his 2007 Ford Mustang.

“This is something I’ve dreamed about. I’ve been trying to get one of these things (ADRL trophy) for so long.”
