Laps for Kids at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Each January prior to NASCAR and NHRA taking over action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Bruton Smith-owned venue presents a service to the community through the extremely popular Speedway Children’s Charities.  The event, which raises nearly $32,000 for the benefit of local young people, allows each entry to drive several laps at somewhat regulated speeds around the banked 1-½ mile LVMS oval.

This year we asked the Colorado River Corvette Club based in Bull Head City, Arizona, to host our story about the event. Their invitation was accepted by their lead couple, George and Carolyn Wartner of Fort Mohave, Ariz.
