RideTech is once again proud to be a sponsor and a participant in the 2010 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Held on November 6 in Pahrump, NV, this race incorporates several elements: road rally, autocross, road course, brake-stop challenge, and overall car design.

While RideTech didn’t gain any additional points for design, we did complete the road rally with no problem; we finished sixteenth on the road course, thirteenth in the autocross, and sixth in the brake stop challenge, giving us an overall ninth place finish out of 52 of the finest and fastest cars from all over the world. Check out the results here.

From Bret Voelkel, RideTech President and driver of the ‘66 Chevelle: ”I love running the Optima event…it is a true testament to the overall abilities of a combination street car and race car. I was very proud that our ‘66 Chevelle with off-the-shelf bolt-on parts was able to run with cars that had, in some cases, triple the horsepower and much less weight than we did. I can’t wait to run again next year!”

The 2010 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational will be televised on the SPEED channel in late January.

Max Chevy’s Bowtie Bytes will let you know the date.
