It all started back in the spring of 2009. Emilio Chiappetta had always been a Chevrolet guy. Blazers, two different Corvettes, even an HO Z28 back in the ’80s. If it had a bowtie on it, he loved it. Now Emilio was but a John Hancock away from being the proud owner of a new Corvette Z06.

But as he prepared to set pen to paper and sign the dotted line, doubts began creeping into his mind. Did he really want to spend that much on a new car? Was it really worth it? No doubt sensing a sale slipping away (and with it a commission), the salesman steered him to the Camaros instead, telling him about the new model on the horizon and suggesting he take a look at one. The only new Camaro in the state of Illinois was at a different dealership, but one road trip later it was love at first sight. He was immediately struck by the fantastic look of the car: Aggressive front end, wide rear, and for a bonus, nice retro styling. Even better, when he climbed into the seat, he found ample room for his 6’4” frame.

Now keep in mind here that Emilio and his wife, Dina Marie, had just purchased a Hummer the previous November. So it’s understandable then, that when Dina looked at him and saw the love for that Camaro in his eyes, she just shook her head and told him he was crazy.

Of course if the story ended there, we wouldn’t be here. Once the deal was done, Emilio began looking around. It wasn’t enough to own the first Camaro in Illinois. He needed to do more. After a little research, he decided that Nickey Chicago was one of, if not the, most reputable and skilled muscle car companies to be found.
