When Chevrolet entered the big block muscle car market in 1966, the Chevelle quickly became an enthusiast favorite. Every year the Chevelle was improved with styling changes in the even years and mechanical changes in the odd years. During the years from 1964 to 1969 General Motors limited the engine size for all GM muscle cars to 400ci.

In 1970 that limitation was dropped and the Chevelle became the most powerful Chevy ever built when it was available with a 450 horsepower 454ci engine. It was also the nicest looking Chevelle of all time with quad headlights, muscular bodylines and the cowl induction hood. Over the years the ’70 Chevelle became the enthusiast’s favorite and that includes Joe Silvestre, the owner of this nasty appearing Chevelle.

Joe was a car guy from childhood and when he graduated high school in 1964 he started to work on hot rods, customs and he even did his share of drag racing. Over the years he has owned plenty of cars and his interest was always the muscle machines from GM.
