New Chevrolet look for Enders, Coughlin

Elite Motorsports is returning to Chevrolet Pro Stocks next season after a year of trying to make Dodge Darts competitive. Here’s a look at the Camaro Pro Stocks of Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Erica Enders that will be built by RJ Racecars.

"It comes down to what works best for us," Elite Motorsports team owner Richard Freeman said. "My brothers and I have just about always been GM guys. Our engines builders, Nick Ferri and Jake Hairston, have had their best success with GM motors. Our crew chiefs Rick Jones, Mark Ingersoll and Brian Self are very comfortable with Chevrolets. It's a natural fit for us.”

The team struggled after a move to Mopar for 2016. Enders won Pro Stock championships the previous two years in a Chevrolet.

“I believe the move back to Chevrolet is by far the best one we could have made,” said Enders, “and we plan to show everyone that beginning in February in Pomona.”

Enders won the 2014 and 2015 Pro Stock championships in a Camaro. Coughlin drove a Chevrolet to four of his five Pro Stock championships and also piloted a Chevy when he won the 1992 Super Gas world title. [12/20/16]
